For a match where most players occasionally consider good luck, there are lots of folklore in poker. When you say that someone was fortunate in that poker tournament they won, be careful of how you mention it. For instance, if you say that you were unfortunate, your chances may not change.

Ok, that may sound a bit ubsurd, but poker is a game loaded with folklores. Did you know that if you are betting a game with 2 different decks and you are asked to pick the deck, you should always pick the deck of cards that’s furthest from you? Or, how about If you have a run of bad cards, you have to settle on a hankerchief to destroy your bad luck? It’s certainly considered good luck to blow through a deck of cards while they’re being shuffled.

A few other fascinating poker folklores are:

  • You can change the run of cards by passing around your chair three times.
  • The most beneficial position at the poker table looks at the entry.
  • The most detrimental seat has its rear to a fireplace.
  • When altering seats, you need to constantly do so clockwise.
  • The worst poker card is the 4 of clubs.
  • It is very unfortunate to sit with your legs crossed at the poker table.
  • Fri is a bad day for betting on cards.
  • The thirteenth is also a terrible day, no matter when it falls during the week.
