Poker Aces – learning to gamble them

Poker Aces refers to two aces being dealt pre-flop. It is the strongest possible pre-flop hand inhold’em Poker. But despite this a large number of bettors find themselves on the losing end when given this hand.

When you are given a set of Aces, you just do not fold pre-flop. You are sitting with the best possible hand at this stage of the game. So how do you bet with Poker Aces ? Do you basically go all-in? I would say no to that.

Bear in mind, you are trying to produce as much money from this strong position. You need to maximise the opportunity. Going all-in will simply scare most gamblers into dropping out before placing a wager.

If you’re in the initial spot (1st or second to actually bet), you will lay a single wager. Anybody with a decent hand will call, with luck a person will raise. If someone has made a raise do not hop to re-raise or call, wait for a small bit – make them think you’re considering your options and then call.

Following the flop your strategy will be to eliminate anyone that might be able to get a straight or a flush. So I would start to raise boldly, if you are fortunate you’ll trick one player into thinking that you’re bluffing.

If you are in the middle or later spot (near the last to wager) you will watch as every player calls and then raise. Even though you’re holding a pair of aces, if you can try to avert a show-down. Protect your hand by making the other players drop out following the flop. If you do not get rid of your competition you risk squandering your hand.
