Pai Gow Poker is a current game with old origins. Built on the old Chinese tile game and the current American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the far east with the west in a fantastic game for beginner level gamblers.

Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the player against the casino, not like the majority of other poker games that gamblers bet against other gamblers. By competing against the dealer, starting players don’t have to be concerned about any other, more knowledgeable individuals taking their cash.

Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the familiar 52-card basic deck and one joker. The gambler is given seven cards faces showing and the house receives 7 cards face down.

One 5 card hand and a 2 card hand must be made from the 7 cards, the 5 card hand must be better than the 2 card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be higher than the houses.
